This is false. The characters also realize that it is also false when applied to desperate people trying to scoop up their lives with a "quick fix". It's a tale of a hit man who writes love songs, a beauty queen living in her car, a psychic trying to get a temp job and a CEO who hallucinates and hears voices… and how their lives ultimately connect through the five second rule.
